In Japan you can have various hot pots depending on the prefectures. Such as Kiritampo from Akita, Houtou from Yamanashi, Mizutaki from Fukuoka and so on. Today, I want to introduce 3 recommended hot pot places in Tokyo you must visit!
Long-established Restaurant From Meiji Era “Yonekyu Asakusa"
The “Yonekyu Asakusa” was established in 1886. Here is the place to eat Gyu-nabe (Beef hot pot) with reasonable price! When you entered Noren (shop curtain), the staff will first welcome you with a sound of taiko(Japanese drum). It seems that the number of time they hits the taiko is depends on the number of guests. You can enjoy Gyu-nabe in traditional Japanese house as well as experience the Japanese hospitality in a same time. ※ Gyu-nabe is similar to sukiyaki, but the ingredients is different. Only contains meat and vegetables.
They only have “Toku no Gyu-nabe” (3790 yen per person) and “Ue no Gyu-nabe” (3160 yen per person) on the menu. Please choose which beef you prefer, and onto that vegetables and raw egg will be included. This set menu, the miso soup, pickles and rice can be added as extra charge of 320 yen each.

The meat they are providing for “Ue no Gyu-nabe” is amazing! It can tell how good the quality is in this price! The “Toku no Gyu-nabe” is more fatty than this. They are using Wagyu Omi beef for hot pot, it is soft and will melts when you bring it to your mouth. I can say wagyu beef is awesome than any other beef in the world! Please have it with raw eggs as you like.
