Discover The Taste Of The Taiwan In Japan

If you heard of Taiwan, I think you will describe the strolls we can able to have it as a snack, and eating while walking. When I was in Taiwan, I used to go to night market when I was starving, and I always had a baked xiao long bao (生煎饅頭=Chinese steam bun), pearl milk tea, Cong zhuabing (蔥抓餅=onion pancake), and luroufan (魯肉飯=minced pork over the rice). Absolutely, lunch and dinner is different! hahaha
There are a lot of foreign restaurants been launched in Japan, but have you ever depressed by the taste is not same as the taste I had in original places? I think they are some restaurants and shops that arrange to the Japanese taste from the begging, but how the taste of the Taiwanese foods we have it in Japan? This time, I want to introduce few Taiwan restaurant and sweet shops!
Restaurants
Reikyou Dougenzaka
When you entered the small pathway inside Dougenzaka, there is a red brick building restaurant named,”Reikyo Dougenzaka.” You can enjoy Taiwan cuisines here. There are no lunch menu, but it is always full of customers in lunch time. The popular menus is “red pork sausage” and Shijimi clam. The red pork sausage has a acquired taste, and has nostalgic taste somewhere. It also bring back my memories that I imagined the Singapore red Chashu on the top of Wantan Mee, and Manapua I had in U.S all the time.
The crab fried rice I had was also great taste! I feel the bowl is little bit large than one person. In the menus, there are bean starch vermicelli, the stir fried vegetables, and etc! I was abandoned not to eat, but I prefer to come in large groups with your families and friends. That can be shared and enjoy having a varieties kinds of menus!

Taiwan Hakka Cuisine Shinchiku（Ueno)
Taiwan Hakka Cuisine Shinchiku is the restaurant can have Taiwan traditional ethnic cuisine located in Nakaokachimachi. You can enjoy a wide varieties of Taiwan cusines such as Zongzi(粽＝sticky rice wrapped with bamboo leaves), Paigumian(排骨麺=fried pork over the noodle) and etc. The one of the dish, “Hakkahan” is the popular menu that they steamed the minced meat with the dark soy sauce put it over the rice with the stir bok-choy. Take out is also acceptable, so a lot of sale men and office ladies are regular customers in the lunch time.

Ximen Shokubo（Shinjuku）
Ximen Shokubo is a Chinese restaurant, it only a 3 min away from Shinjuku west exit. They serve dim sum and porridge etc. The popular menu is “xiaolongbao” fill with plenty of pork gravy. In lunch time, the customers can select from 5 different lunch sets: dim sum set, the noodle sets, handmade recommend xiaolongbao set and etc. Now, there is free almond jelly dessert and free refill of oolong tea in lunch time!

Taiwan Cuisine Kokyu（Shibuya）
It is authenthic Taiwan restaurant that is located near Tokyu main department store, in Dougenzaka. It is a popular restaurant provides Taiwan small dishes. At night, they provides a wide varieties of food menus such as standard popular stroll menus: oyster egg omelet and pork sausage, Taiwan hot pot, Peking duck and etc. It opens in lunch time on weekdays, the customers can enjoy the noodle and rice set menus in reasonable price. “Luroufan(魯肉飯)” is the popular menu at here. If you drop by for lunch, you need to try it or else you may feel sort of ripped off!

Sunnyhills 微熱山丘（Pineapple cake shop）
If you heard of Taiwan, it is Pineapple cake! In Taiwan, there are a lot of shops that sells delicious pineapple cakes. You can be purchased the pineapple cake with your favorite taste and texture tailored to your taste. In Japan, we can purchase that pineapple cake at here in Sunny hills, Minami Aoyama shop! In addition, the building of the store is very unique design. The building Japanese Architect, Mr. Kengo Kuma had done; used square Hinoki timber to built, and if you entered the warm building, it feels like you are in the forest.
I found out about Sunnyhills when I was in Singapore. The Singapore branch located inside the famous Raffles Hotel was very stylish and luxury, and it was drifting. Depends on the stores, the building atmosphere is different, it may be interesting only to visit to stores.
Sunnyhills pineapple jam are made from Taiwan pineapple. On the red clay hill in the mountain of Bagua-shan(八卦山), it took over 18 months to grow this pineapple with the full of love by farmers. After the harvest, it takes few more months to make the pineapple paste and turn into delicious "Jam!"
Moreover, the pineapple cake dough that provide in Japan are made it from fresh eggs, selected flour, and ferment French butter from Echire. In addition, the taste is little different to Taiwan. The pineapple they used is the one harvest in every summer, it has a sweet smooth taste along with the sourness. Definitely, we assumed that the dough made by plenty of butter and the smooth taste jam will be addicted! You may can try and compare the different to Taiwan!

Tokyo Mamehana Koubo（Open in December 2015）
The soft Tofu pudding (豆花=Douhua) dessert shop had opened since December, 2015 in Awajicho. This is one of my favorite dessert. It is great to have it with the different kind of topping! The Tokyo Mamehana Koubo`s menu have only 2 menu, the simple Douhua without topping, “Genmi Douhua (cold・hot)” and with the topping,‘Tokyo Douhua(cold・hot).” There is 7 kinds of topping can be selected, from the standard to the seasonal toppings. It is attractive that you can select your own topping plus how much you want! Moreover, there are not using any preservative and coloring, and the staff makes every day so no need to worried!
＊What I definitely will have is everything for my topping♪ This is so good!!
