Free visits to an observatory for panoramic views of Tokyo!
The most popular destination in the metropolitan building is, no doubt, the observatory on the top floor. It offers panoramic views of Tokyo.
Visiting the observatory on a sunny day offers the most exciting experience of viewing majestic sight of Mt. Fuji!
Free admission has contributed to the increased popularity amongst visitors as well as its varying scenery from Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree.
Since the metropolitan building is a government office, it embraces undisturbed atmosphere allowing some mental space to ponder over things.
Take a look at the expansive view of the city of Tokyo, and allow yourself to open up for solutions to any problems.
If you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and tasty cuisine, Good View Tokyo serves meals on the observation deck.
The restaurant is filled with elegance and serenity while serving high quality food.
Visit on every Tuesday and Wednesday evening to enjoy music by a pianist to accompany the special dinner.

Appreciating art at the metropolitan building!
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building was built at the hight of economic bubble in 1990, and this magnificent building was the tallest building in Japan at the time of completion.
Gothic cathedral-like building also emerge as an image of Tower of Babel.
The metropolitan building itself is a work of art, designed by world renowned architecture, Kenzo Tange. The building offers different faces and power when viewed at different angles and distances.
Especially, a view from directly underneath the building will make visitors realise its height.
After appreciating the artistic architecture of the building, take a look at 39 art works placed around the site!
Many amazing sculptures and carvings are arranged in the location, but I particularly adore My Sky Hole 91 Tokyo by Bukichi Inoue and Kaneki Blossom (Dedicated to Father) by Michio Ihara.
There are eight more figure sculptures in the courtyard of the government building.
Come and visit in the spare time, and you will share the caring effort the city puts in for its people.

Discover Japan and its attractions while shopping for souvenirs!
Second floor of the government building is a space for promoting nationwide tourism, where different events are held by changing the exhibition contents every week.
Each week is focused on one town or village from Japan and sells their speciality items and food, while introducing their sightseeing spots.
As for me, who loves eating, I am always ordering food.Every speciality food is delicious that would make the visitors want to go to the actual place.
My conscience struggles to fight against such delightful food that I can never loose weight while my purse gets thinner.
Other than delicious food, there are original items sold to represent their characters and cultures.

Each city and their scenery is able to remain beautiful because of the local residence showing their love and affection.
The visitors will be able to feel the enthusiasm of local people as they promote their towns and villages.
I often feel beautiful from the inside when I witness such a sight, and it boosts my energy for my desire to care for my own town.
