Spring Is Coming!!! ~Let`s Gather Up And Have A Cherry Blossom Viewing Party!! ~

If you hear the word “Spring”, what do you associate with? I think most people will answer, “Cherry Blossom” when you imaged Japan. The Cherry Blossom is one of the familiar flower in our lives and in Japanese culture. When Spring comes, generally we can see people spreading the picnic tarp on the ground, and having picnic and parties with their friends, families, and co-workers. It is one of the fun event, gathering up under the Cherry Blossom!!
In Tokyo, Cherry Blossom bloom around from mid March. In Taiwan, my friend showed me the picture of cherry blossom. He told me it had already bloomed. Taiwan is warm, seem usually cherry blossom will bloomed from end of January. It still February, but can able to see beautiful “Showa Sakura” trees-lined street. II saw the picture, but it was beautiful!
Depend on the countries, I think people can able to see Cherry Blossom, but I feel that Japanese Cherry Blossom has a wide variation of Cherry Blossoms than others countries. Moreover, there a lot of tourists will come to visit to view the Japanese Cherry Blossom in this period, what we called is,”Sakura.”
Today, I want to put on a spot to “OHANAMI”, which is the Cherry Blossom viewing party. The one of the Japanese event held in Spring!
Ueno Park
“Ueno Park” is where the people of a wide range of age groups visit and been loved. In Spring, a lot of people will come here for Ohanami. Ueno Park is also known as “Ueno Onshi Park”, and it is one of the famous cherry blossom spots nationwide. In the park there are museums and zoo etc. The National Museum Of West Art has been registered as one of the World Heritage Site. There is Starbucks cafe made it with warm-wooden exterior building near Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, and you can see a lot of people sitting down on the terrace having coffee. In cherry blossom season, they decorate cherry ornaments in some interiors, and you can able to see the original art associated with Ueno Park.
In Ueno Park, there are more than 1200 Cherry Blossom trees and it will fully bloom in Spring. Every year in March, “Ueno Cherry Blossom Festival” will be held, and can see events and stalls. You may also interest walking along the Cherry Blossom trees with foods in one hands!
Although, I feel just sightseeing is boring! How about sitting down under the Cherry Blossom trees and do picnic or party? Isn`t it that sounds good and can bring a good memory back home?
This is cherry blossom viewing at night! Holding can of beer in one hand, and having party at night!
*How to secure the seat:
The place taking is prohibited at the time of 23 pm to 5 am in Ueno Park （it is not allowed to enter in this time) . Our suggestion is please keep the place first where you want to sit before you come. It is nice to wake up early in the morning and secure the place, but also you can go one day before around 8 pm and asked if whether they can give you the seat or not. After you secure the seat, than spread the picnic tarp and fixed with duct tape to make sure it will not blown away! As a general rule, is currently banquet is possible until 20 pm.※It is also forbidden to put the music with loud tones as it is disturbing other neighbor. Thank you.

Yoyogi Park
In weekend, a wide varieties of events and free markets are held in Yoyogi park.
It is not as big as Ueno Park, but it is easy to secure the seat here. From Someiyoshino, you can able to see about 700 different kinds of Cherry Blossoms from here.
It is open 24 hours, but there is no light up so I suggest to do Ohanami in the daytime.
＊How to secure the seat：
It is prohibited to secure the seat from the day before. Please go early in the morning!
*It is prohibited to use fire.
It is the park that can be relaxed, so I recommend having picnic with your family, bring pets and child with you or enjoy with friends.
Inogashira Park
Inogashira park is known as a park that has Inogashira pond in the center, which is the Musashino three major spring water pond. It takes about 5~10 min walk from Kichijoji Station. A lot of people used this park as a dating spot and there is also Inogashira Park Boat Ride, and a lot of couples and families will come here to visit.
In Spring, the visitors can enjoy seeing Someiyoshino, Yaezakura, Shidaresakura etc., about 700~800 of Cherry Blossoms. Same as Ueno Park, you can able to see the Cherry Blossoms at night, and can see the 2 different faces between morning and night.
＊How to secure the seat：
There are no rules, but if you want to secure your seat one day before, please fixed the picnic trasp with duct tape not to blown away.
＊Time：Party is only till 22pm
＊It is prohibited to use fire
Others
I picked up 3 major parks! Other than this, there are more parks and gardens you can able to see the Cherry Blossom. If you want to see Cherry Blossom from the restaurant, I recommend of going to Iidabashi or Nakameguro. The Cherry Blossom avenue along the Meguro river is also beautiful for sightseeing!
If you have time and have not experience “Ohanami” in your life yet, it is good experience to do it once! Although, I swore that when you do Ohanami, please wear warm clothes and follow the rules!!! Enjoy!!!
