Kanda myōjin (Kanda Shrine)

Kanda-myōjin (Kanda Shrine), is a shrine with an ancient and honorable origin was built in 730 AD.
It is the universal tutelary god (Souujigami) of 108 town assemblies, including Kanda, Nihonbashi (northern of Nihonbashi-gawa(river)), Akihabara, Otemachi, Marunouchi, Kyu-Kandaichiba, and Tsukijiuoichiba. It is one of the ten Tokyo Jissha (shrine), place where Tokugawa Ieyasu prayed for victory regarding the "Battle of Sekigahara," which put a period to Japan's Age of Civil Wars.
Due to the extension of the Edo Castle in 1616, Kanda-myōjin was relocated to its current location. From then on throughout the Edo era, it was venerated from the shogunate and common people as the "Edo Souchinju (the shrine that appeases and protects everything)."There are many highlights, such as the powerful "Setsumatsusha (a small shrine entrusted to the care of a larger shrine)," located behind the main building of the shrine.
As the shrine made an appearance in the dance practice scenes of Anime "LoveLive," many fans have been visiting the shrine recently.
