Ginza West Main Shop
Ginza West was established in 1947. First, it was opened as a high standard restaurant. At the time, a one cup of coffee was 10 yen,but at “Ginza West”, they had served a course of 1,000 yen. However, they need to change the concept after half year past from their opening due by the ordinance enforced, because the price more than 75 yen was banned. From then, they changed to cafe, but still confectionery department remains.
Speaking of Ginza, the “Ginza WEST” confectionery are also sold at department stores and it been loved by locals. The varieties of “Dry cake (the cookies)” with the flavor of nuts etc. only sold in Tokyo also become one of a Tokyo souvenirs. They used different butter for pie and cookies, and the point is the “Dry cake” are made all by craftsmen's manual molding!! They also provide box and can, it is perfect to send for souvenirs who have large family!

You can feel the atmosphere of Show period at the cafe in Ginza main store! You can see the SP board classic record which was played in the 1940s with a calm space. They provide coffee, tea, juices, desserts and light meals etc. The Ginza WEST original blend coffee beans mainly based on Blue Mountains and it is refillable. They roast shallowly with gas and coarsely ground the coffee in their shop. All of their drinks use mineral water; for coffee, that makes the coffee more mild!
Besides the main shop, they also have cafes in Aoyama and Yokohama. The Ginza WEST Aoyama Garden shop is totally different atmosphere compared to the main shop in Ginza and Yokohama and also can enjoy the limited menu. Although, if you come to Tokyo, we recommend you to go to the main shop in Ginza, where can feel the atmosphere of Showa period of Japan that is getting to disappear these days. The dry cakes and cakes can also purchase here for souvenirs!
