Scramble Junction
The most famous scramble crossing in Japan is the one at Shibuya station.
It is known to have 500,000 people use the crossing everyday, and in rush hours approximately 3000 people will cross in one green light. For its close proximity to Harajuku and Aoyama, it is the place lead the fashion trend. During the weekends, you can see different ages from young to adult.
Large display monitors surrounding the crossing entertain the visitors with promotional videos of Japan’s new trends. The moment the light turns green, everyone begins walking in every direction, making such a scene a Japanese icon.
In the nearby areas, there are Hachiko statue often used as a rendezvous point and Aogaeru (blue frog) tourist information.
Crossing the road will take you to the Shibuya’s best shopping street, Center-gai. You can not miss the landmark in Shibuya.
