Suntory Museum Of Art

Suntory Museum of Art is a Japanese arts museum located within Tokyo Midtown. Having a history of over 50 years, the museum moved to its current location in 2007. Approximately 3,000 art works are on display. There are paintings, lacquer works, ceramics, glass works, dyeing and weaving works from the Heian to Edo periods, and among them national treasures and important cultural properties are included.

Based on the theme "Art revisited, beauty revealed," the museum provides various programs to not only appreciate but to also experience Japanese arts. Programs where visitors can participate in are enrich. For example on every other Thursday, "Tencha (tea ceremony)" where you can enjoy matcha green tea and seasonal Japanese sweets, are held limited to 50 people. Also, workshops by instructors that represent Japanese traditional culture are held.

You can not finish your visit by just looking. At the museum store, you can purchase original goods that motif the works of the collections. Also at the cafe, produced by Kanazawa's well-established store "Kaga-fu Fumuroya", you can enjoy meals and sweets that convey "Wa (Japanese-style)."
