When we mention about Onsen (Hot springs) in Tokyo, we may probably think of Hakone. As we know that, Hakone is famous for its numerous onsen. Near 120 mins from Tokyo by train, visiting Hakone may not suitable for the tourists having a packed schedule. In fact, there are some onsen in Tokyo hub which are worth to go. I am going to recommend 6 best onsen in Tokyo.
Tokyo Dome City LaQua
Tokyo Dome City LaQua consists of three zones: spa, attraction and shopping mall. The hot spring water they use is drawn 1700m underground helping circulation and relieving muscle ache. They also offer different beauty treatments from massages to stylish Korean body scrubs.

I.Buy the tickets at the reception counter, the staff will give you the ticket for clothes and a bracelet for the locker.

Jakotsu-yu
Do you know that there is a traditional Sento (public bathhouse) named Jakotsuyu located in the hub of Asakusa? It is just a 5-min walk from Asakusa Station. Jakotsuyu is a fantastic place to experience Japanese sento culture because of its over 170 years long history. The first-time visitors will be pleasantly surprised because you can also enjoy the traditional Japanese hot spring here. The “black water” hot spring contains rich minerals benefiting our health.There is also a semi open-air hot spring. Visitors will find a vending machine at the entrance. Visitors should buy the tickets at the vending machine first. If you need a soap or towel, you can also buy the tickets for renting a towel/buying a soap at the vending machine. Changing rooms are separated by genders. You cannot take photos in the hot spring to protect personal privacy.

Only 10 mins by train from Shinjuku Station, there is a famous hot spring named Somei Onsen Sakura located in Sugamo. Visitors can relax and escape from city life because of its gorgeous interior design. I am sure that you can enjoy your whole day here because you can find everything you need. You can enjoy your meal in their lovely and relaxing restaurant to heal your body. You can also buy drinks at the vending machines. The bill will be settled up when you leave. The hot spring water they use is from Somei Onsen which can help you to relieve muscle ache. There are different types of hot springs including indoor and outdoor bath. Togoshi Ginza Onsen
Togoshi Ginza Onsen is a tiny hot spring located in Shinagawa area. It is a popular hot spring among locals so it is a best place to experience traditional Japanese onsen culture at a reasonable price. You can buy the tickets from the vending machines at the entrance. There are two types of hot spring: “Moon Hot Spring” and “Sun Hot Spring”. “Moon Hot Spring” means “Black Hot Spring” containing rich minerals. The scene-painting of Mt. Fuji by Morio Nakajima, a nominated Japanese bath artist, is also eye-catching. Travellers who want to experience Onsen culture should visit here!

Toshimaen Niwa-no-Yu
Toshimaen Niwa-no-Yu is one of the biggest spa resort in Tokyo. It is housed in a Japanese garden designed by Kenzo Kosugi. Visitors can enjoy the spa and the Japanese garden view at the same time. The open-air onsen is highly recommended, especially in spring and autumn. Visitor can view the cherry blossom in spring and momiji (autumn leaves) in autumn. There are a lot of types of onsen, such as natural onsen and bubble onsen here. Visitors can wear swimming wear in the onsen swimming pool, and can also go to Ko rean body scrubs or hot stone bath (ganbanyoku). Massage is also available in Niwa-no-Yu.
There is a Japanese restaurant located on the 2nd floor. Visitors can go to Niwa-no-Yu on weekdays because there will be a lot of people on weekends and national holidays.
