Ueno Zoo
Ueno Zoo is Japan's first-built historic government-managed zoo. It lines in popularity with the Asahiyama Zoo of Hokkaido. Though it is located in the city center, the zoo attains the nature and landscape that matches the animals as much as possible. It is famous as the first zoo in Japan to raise giant pandas, and on holidays it is crowded with people who have come to see them. Also, the sight of large mammals (such as tigers, brown bears, and gorillas) dynamically moving around is overwhelming.
It is a rare zoo in the world, raising the world's three most rarest animals, giant pandas, okapis, and pygmy hippopotamuses. Also in the spring, the lined cherry blossom trees that spread to the entrance, bloom all together and paint the whole area to a cherry blossom color. The various unique and somewhat playful souvenirs will surely make the best travel presents.
Why not make memories of Tokyo at Japan's number one zoo, which is long loved by local citizens.
