Aogaeru Tourist Information Site
Aogaeru tourist information center is built within a train carriage, outside Hachiko park in Shibuya.
Aogaeru mean,"Green frog" is named after a nick name for the round green carriage that has always been referred to by its people with affection. How unique that there is a train carriage in the station park, and it is a tourist information site!
This engine is the first carriage of Tokyu Train type 5000. It used to run as Toyoko line between October 1954 to March 1970. The original form remains in both outside and inside the carriage.
The tourist information site is open from 10am to 6pm, with English speaker. There are also tourist brochures in 4 languages, Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.
The center offers a guidance on street navigation, and also distributes tourist guide application, “I Listen Navi” app.
Please be careful that eating and drinking are not allowed in the carriage. Please free to come and have a look when you pass by!
