Izumotaisha Tokyobunshi
The Izumo-taisha having an extremely long history, is one of Japan's most famous shrines. It is located in Shimane Prefecture, which is in western-Japan and on the Japan Sea side. The shrine called "Bunshi" (of Izumo-taisha) is located in Roppongi.
The "Bunshi" stands for a shrine where a god shared from a main core shrine, is worshipped. Since it is located in the urban area Roppongi, where there is not much space, the structure of the building is different from what you will generally imagine as a shrine. At a glance, it is an apartment-like rectangular building. At the entrance there is a shrine-like "Shimenawa (sacred straw festoon in Shinto)" decoration, and ahead of the stair-top, there is the "Haiden" where the god wells.
The god of this shrine is called, "the god of matchmaking" and it is said to have blessings to the love, and business success (coming from the relationship between people). Worshipping at the "Honden (main shrine building)" and purchasing amulets at the "Shamusho (shrine office)" is highly recommended.
